Last week, we had the pleasure of attending a technical sharing session at the University of Southampton’s Optoelectronics Research Centre, exploring how Arden’s precision measurement systems support the characterisation of hollow-core fibers.
We had live demonstrations of Arden’s precision instruments for determining fiber geometry, refractive index profile, rotational alignment and interferometric end face inspection. This gave the group a great opportunity for a close look at how these measurement solutions help validate their fiber designs.
Pictured: Professor Austin Taranta and some members of his group preparing samples of their novel hollow-core fiber for analysis of their cleave quality, geometry and refractive index profile.
We really enjoyed the session and hope to catch up with the team again soon!
