Following an intensive two-day training at Arden, our guests from Linpu Instruments took the opportunity to visit the Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies (AIPT), one of the UK’s largest photonics research centres.

We were warmly welcomed by AIPT researchers: Dr. Vladimir Gordienko, Dr. Aleksandr Donodin, Dr. Hani Kbashi, Dr. Vladislav Dvoyrin, and Dr. Kaiming Zhou.

Dr. Kaiming Zhou provided an insightful introduction to AIPT’s mission and research, followed by engaging discussions and lab tours highlighting their work in optical telecommunications and fiber sensing, fiber amplifiers and lasers, and optical frequency comb technologies

It was a fantastic exchange of technical expertise, ideas, and market insights, highlighting the importance of industry–academia collaboration in driving photonic innovation forward.
